Special messages from the children!

I had to wanted to write an update about the kids going to school as the summer has ended and the fall school semester has begun. Doina (our Director of Education), however, approached me with an even better idea. She had some of our children write a little paragraph about themselves. Together, we translated every child's special message for you. I hope you enjoy hearing from them. They are growing constantly and I know it's nice for you to hear about their likes, dislikes (or intense dislikes in some cases), their dreams, their favorite things, and some of their thoughts. I am leaving to return to the States tomorrow and I know I will miss the kids and staff very much, as I know all of you do as well. They are wonderful kids and I hope you enjoy hearing from them in their own words!

SIMONA: My name is Chis Adriana Simona and I was born on August 19, 1994. I am 14 years old and I am in 6th grade. I like to help my mother in the kitchen and to help clean around the house. I would like to become an English teacher. In my free time I like to play or to stay with the adults in the kitchen. I don’t really enjoy reading but I like mathematics. I also like biology, geography and drawing. I read the Bible with our parents every evening and then we all talk about what we read. Every morning before we go to school, we pray as a family.

ROBI: My name is Don Robert and I am 12 years old. I like to watch and play football (soccer), handball and basketball. I want to become a watman (a public transportation driver). I would like to learn more about making airplanes. I would also like to become a pilot so I can guide the airplanes wherever I want. I like to play computers games where I can build parks in the desert and the wilderness.

LUCI: My name is Roman Lucian and I am in 6th grade. I was born on July 27, 1994. My favorite school subject is English. My favorite movie is Star Wars. My favorite sports are football (soccer), tennis and swimming. I go to the Speranta Baptist Christian Church. I like to go to Sunday school and now we are learning about Moses. I also like to play computer games. In my free time I like to play football and watch TV.

IOANA: My name is Parajdi Ramona Ioana and I am in the 6th grade. I was born on February 4, 1994 and now I am 14 years old. I like to help in the kitchen and to play on the computer. In my free time I also like to read books and the Bible, and to listen to music. I like to walk in the city. I also like going to school. My favorite subjects are math, technology, health, biology, geography, Romanian and English.

TEODORA: My name is Rohacs Teodora and I am 12 years old. I am in the 5th grade and I like to draw. My favorite classes are Romanian, English and biology. I hate my information and technology classes. I have one sister. Her name is Simina. My favorite film is "A Cinderella Story ". I like to eat spaghetti and pizza. I also like puppies.

MIRCEA: My name is Litean Mircea and I am 12 years old. I was born on April 21, 1996. I go to school at GENERALA 20 (a public school in Arad close to our houses). I really like to sing and play football (soccer). At school, my favorite subject is English. My best friend is Ben Gibble.

ALEXANDRA: My name is Balas Alexandra Maria and I am nine years old. I was born on September 7, 1999. I am in 3rd grade. My favorite subjects are Romanian and Information. I have one sister who is seven years old. My parents also have one more child who is 2 years old. My parents live in Sâmpetru-German (a part of Arad). They visit me sometimes on the weekend. I came to Global Hope two years ago (in September 2006).
