Volunteer Opportunities include:
- Bring food each month for the CROS pantry and deposit in the
narthex. Each month a recommended food is listed in the Bulletin
but any non-perishables are appreciated.
- Save Campbell soup labels and deposit in plastic container
to be sent to the Red Bird Mission. The Dorcas class is supporting
this mission in Appalachia. The labels enable them to purchase
vans, special need equipment. We join millions of churches across
the country in this effort.
- Buy food from SHARE each month. Go to http://www.shareflorida.com to
see the menu for the month then bring cash to purchase this delicious
food at a great bargain.
- Buy coffee, tea, cocoa and candy from UMCOR Fair Exchange Project.
Through a co-op both the needy can get food cheaper and so can
we. The more they sell the cheaper the price for everyone.
- Volunteer to help with Habitat for Humanities when noted in
the Bulletin or email Larry Johnson at tanlarry@aol.com to
let him know you are going to participate.
- Spend 2 or 3 hours at the CROS pantry at least once a month
helping to pack food boxes for distribution. Contact: Judy Lindsay.
Phone: 790-4174 or email her at JLRaeFarmer@aol.com.
- On Monday get the CROS food donations from the narthex and
deliver to the food pantry. See Judy Lindsay above.
- Send cards to our missionaries to encourage them in their work.
Call Silvia Pugliese at 793-7942 to get names to correspond with.
We concern ourselves with the children, but the missionaries
need to know they have support too.
- Sponsor a child in Global Hope, Arad, Romania. Send a letter,
little goodies, whatever a child would like. Contact: Debbie
Smith, Phone: 795-3730 or email dsmith4@bellsouth.net
- Join our very active Prayer Team. Call the office to volunteer.
Your name will be given to the chairperson.
- Call the office if you or a friend is in need of prayer and
it will be passed to the team anonymously or by name. You choose.
